The driving force behind this cultivation is Claude Arzagot. He started his business in Bordeaux (France), but in 1972, he decided to settle in M\u00e1laga to take advantage of its exceptional climate. The company exports its entire production to Paris, London, Frankfurt, New York, Brussels, Genoa, Stockholm, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Bangkok. This is a very carefully managed cultivation, where wheat straw is placed on the soil to prevent the fruit from touching the ground and deteriorating. Additionally, it requires a lot of labour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To harvest one kilogram, more than 700 strawberries are needed, which takes between one to three hours of work. The big advantage is that these strawberries are highly sought after by top chefs around the world, especially renowned pastry chefs, as they are considered a high-quality fruit. The production period lasts from October to June. The production is organic and covers an area of five hectares.
