Lippia dulcis, az\u00facar de los aztecas o hierba dulce azteca. La planta es conocida desde hace mucho tiempo y fue utilizada por los aztecas con el nombre de Tzonpelic xihuitl que significa \u201chierba dulce\u201d. Sus ra\u00edces tienen sabor a regaliz, de ah\u00ed su nombre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Se ha utilizado hist\u00f3ricamente como edulcorante natural. La flor tiene un poder edulcorante y un sabor algo menos intenso que las hojas.
